5. You saw parents who could cope: you saw your parents struggle and experience stress, but they also sought solutions and navigated the world in positive ways. This taught you self trust and emotional regulation, even during times of stress.
6. They took responsibility: they apologized when needed and owned their role in situations. They didn't blame or deflect because they accepted themselves as flawed human beings. This taught you to be open and vulnerable rather than defensive and shutdown.
7. Their relationships with fulfilling and healthy: you witnessed relationships where there was mutual respect, admiration, and give and take. You saw what true partnership looks like rather than codependency. This primed you for healthy adult relationships.
Emotionally mature parents change their children's lives in the most positive way. They create secure bonds and gift their children with resilience and empathy.
