3. Digital Jihad
Al Qaeda created its digital arm named THE GLOBAL ISLAMIC MEDIA FRONT in 2005 to post video messages from Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda beheading videos, Videos to issue Fatwas, and warnings. The GIMF has a direct precedent in two ‘‘sister’’6 propaganda platforms: the Global Islamic Media Group (GIMG) and Global Islamic Media Centre (GIMC). The former was a distribution list set up on June 29, 2001, in one of the virtual groups and spaces offered free of charge by Yahoo to its e-mail account users7 and was followed later by a website.8 Access to its materials requires a password.
Six months after it was created, GIMG had over 600 subscribers, a figure that grew constantly until it reached 7400 by the time the group disappeared in the spring of 2004. The list was administered from Canada by a man nicknamed ‘‘Abu Banan’’ to distribute ideological and propaganda manuals and texts.
In May 2004, following the publication of the video showing the beheading in Iraq of American contractor Daniel Berg by the Jordanian terrorist Abu Musab Al Zarqawi, the website disappeared after being targeted by anonymous hackers. The second group, the GIMC, was closely linked to Ahmad al-Wathiq Billah, the anonymous author of numerous Internet texts on the global jihad strategy.
In August 2004, Billah and his Global Islamic Media Centre openly called on the Internet for the creation of a ‘‘unified Islamic Media Network of international scope with a coordinating body,’’ intended to ‘‘exploit the Internet’’ for the ‘‘benefit of the Islamic Ummah.’’13 The call resulted in the creation of the Global Islamic Media Front, which merged the two media cells that had worked in parallel, but
uncoordinated, until then.
The new front set up its website to house propaganda compiled by multiple jihadist organizations. It demonstrated particular creativity by not just editing and creating new versions of existing videos but also doing its translations of Arabic terrorist propaganda into Western languages and releasing manuals and useful information on how to make bombs, chemical and biological weapons, etc. Since its inception, the group has been successful in attracting the attention of Western media and public opinion.
In 2007, for example, the GIMF broadcast on an Internet TV channel called ‘‘Voice of the Caliphate,’’ whose appearance and format were identical to Western news programs, but with a masked presenter who extolled jihadist terrorism. Similarly, its members modified an existing computer video game to create a new version called ‘‘The Night of Bush Capturing’’ in which the hero enters a U.S. base in Iraq and shoots the soldiers there, eventually reaching the last level of the game where the opportunity arises to kill President George W. Bush.
GIMF members also launched on the Internet the ‘‘Al Qaeda University of Jihad Studies,’’ to ‘‘incite, guide, indoctrinate, and encourage the awareness of the mujahideen.
The GIMF has played an important role in helping groups such as the Army of Islam (Jaish al-Islam) in the Palestinian territories and Fatah al-Islam in the Palestinian refugee camps in Nahr al-Bared (Lebanon) to achieve legitimacy among the international jihadist community.
GIMF began to include messages by these small local groups on its websites, which also featured messages by Al Qaeda and its regional affiliates. Western GIMF cells played a fundamental role in this collaboration, which also benefited the group itself to the extent that it became a primary source of dissemination for propaganda by those behind attacks against ‘‘Crusaders, Jews, and apostates.’’
In May 2004, in the aftermath of the massive media impact of the Internet video footage of the beheading of American contractor Nick Berg, Canadian intelligence interrogated various individuals associated with the distribution on the Web of the bloody video, among them an Iraqi called Ayed Hamid Mejid, whom the Canadian Security and Intelligence Service (CSIS) believed to be the true identity of Abu Banan, the mysterious founder and administrator of the Global Islamic Media Group.
Born in 1963 in Kirkuk (northern Iraq) of Turkish origin, Mejid arrived in Canada in the early 1990s after living for a time in Turkey as a Gulf War exile. In Canada he worked as a teacher at an Islamic school and an imam in several mos ques. He was later granted Canadian citizenship and formed a family with three children.
But it was never conclusively proved that he was mysterious Abu Banan the online preacher of Al Qaeda Digital Jihad University. Now Abu Banan disappeared and GIMF surfaced in Austria with a certain Mohammed Mahmoud as its leader. When Austrian Police arrested him,
GIMF surfaced in Germany through a Pakistani Aleem Nasir and a German named Rene´ Marc Sepac who had converted to Islam and renamed himself as Muhammed Ali.
German Authorities snooped in and arrested Aleem Nasir and Rene. It was during their trial that beans were spilled.
Authorities found that:
The global Islamic Media front of Al Qaeda was created and platformed by SITE INTELLIGENCE GROUP based out of Israel.
SITE had received funding from the Rand Corporation, US State Department directly.
The Rand Corporation also worked as a pass-through for the USAID funding to SITE INTELLIGENCE GROUP.
SITE INTELLIGENCE GROUP never acknowledged these details!!
PS - RAND Corporation was founded by a Grant of 1 million USD by The Ford Foundation at the behest of CIA!!

The USAID went a step further and advised young US Students through one the USAID guides "INTEGRATING LGBTQI - CONSIDERTATIONS INTO EDUCATION PROGRAMMING" to hide their GENDER ORIENTATION AND SEXUAL ORIENTATION from their parents!!
