If we tell our Jewish Zionist doctors that we’re anxious because we spend our days watching videos of children in #Gaza starving, parentless, and living their lives without all their limbs, will we be labelled antisemitic? Will it be reported as an antisemitic incident?
The Jewish Medical Association of Ontario (JMAO) joins a long list of Jewish legacy institutions making a mockery of challenging antisemitism by equating criticism of Israel with hatred of Jews.
Their recent report displays high numbers of healthcare professionals reporting antisemitism, but fails to identify that the JMAO only allows Zionist Jews to become members. It also has a stated mission of ‘solidarity with Israel’ and combating anti-Zionism.
With no examples of antisemitism, and a survey based on a post Oct 7, 2023 context, we must assume that the experiences being documented largely relate to opposing Israel’s actions and the genocide in Gaza. While uncomfortable for Jewish Zionists, this doesn’t = antisemitism.
The conflation of anti-Israel positions with antisemitic beliefs serves JMAO’s interests, but also renders their data inaccurate. As Jews who oppose Israel’s genocide we strongly oppose the methods of this survey and urge anyone reporting on it to examine its integrity.
This @robferguson1 piece thestar.com is a prime example. It should not have been published and the @TorontoStar should answer for its absurd bias.

Their cynical misrepresentation does more to foment antisemitism than to fight it.
