The reality of this is denial of what they initially affirmed, that God has an external, objective existence (Wujud 'ayni khariji).
As this necessity compels them to affirm the view of Ahl al-Sunnah—God is separate from His creation, pointed at in direction, outside the universe

—they find themselves constrained and suffocated. Thus, they reduce His existence to that of "an idea", similar to the existence of "universals" and "abstract meanings" such as sadness or hunger.

This is precisely the creed of the Greek philosophers, and as you can see, it is essentially a denial of God's objective and external existence. Exalted is He above what they claim.

He said:
"They have not shown Allah His proper reverence—when on the Day of Judgment the ˹whole˺ earth will be in His Grip, and the heavens will be rolled up in His Right Hand. Glorified and Exalted is He above what they associate ˹with Him˺!"
