There's a reason people lose weight while visiting Europe
American's also end up with more chronic diseases while eating the same foods in the U.S.
Is the food really that different?
Here's a thread on some shocking differences in popular foods between the 2 cultures:
Countries in Europe avoid High fructose corn syrup and use sugar in lower quantities instead
High fructose corn syrup is linked to obesity and metabolic issues
They also stay from artificial food colorings like Red 40, Yellow 5.
These dyes are linked to adverse neurobehavioral outcomes and potential carcinogenic effects
Something even more concerning- the U.S. used BVO in beverages frequently up until July 2024 because of safety concerns
BVO contains bromine, which can accumulate in the body and cause memory loss, skin, and nerve problems, as well as organ damage
Now Let's look at the differences between popular foods:
1. McDonald's Big Mac
2. McDonald's McFlurry (Oreo)
3. Sprite
4. Starbucks Frappuccino (Caramel)
5. Froot Loops
