Hakka or Chinese-Jamaicans are the descendants of Chinese workers brought to Jamaica in the 1850s. Genetically there are more paternal Chinese markers in the population than maternal.
Lemba Jews - the Lemba are a southern African ethnic group with Semitic male ancestry. Some practice a variant of Judaism. Genetically the Lemba have a mix of Y-haplogroups such as J and the CHM marker.
The Sumter Turks of South Carolina likely descend from an Ottoman named Yusef ben Ali / Joseph Benenhaley who served as a scout from General Sumter during the Revolutionary War.
Afro-Middle Easterners encompass groups of Arabs and Iranians with 'zanj' African heritage, coming from the Arab-Swahili slave trade around the Indian Ocean. These include Afro-Iranians, Palestinians, Saudis and Iraqis.
The Siddi are a diverse group of Afro-Indian/Pakistanis. Their origins are murky, with some arriving as Portuguese slaves, others maybe with Arabs or as mercenaries, artisans or sailors.
Indo-Fijians are the descendants of indentured labourers brought from the Hindi Belt of northern India. Their participation in Fijian life and politics has been very complex, and their demographics have swung from majority to minority over the decades, many have since emigrated
The Anglo-Burmese are a mixed group of Burmese ethnicity and Anglo heritage, stemming from the period of imperial rule. A wide number of ethnic backgrounds exist in this group including Karen, Shan and Mon.
The Bnei Menashe are derived from a mix of Tibetan, Burmese and Indian ancestry, with a claimed link to the 'lost tribes of Israel'. Genetics testing has been partially successful in showing a maternal connection with the Middle East, but not definitive.
Sri Lankan Burghers are a mix of Sri Lankan and European peoples, predominantly from Portugal, Britain and the Netherlands. They can vary widely in appearance.
In Namibia there is a 30,000 strong population of Rehoboth Basters, a group largely made up of mixed European - Khoisan origins. They left Cape Colony and settled in central Namibia in the 1870s.
