A childhood friend who’s now a successful businessman was in town & we met for a quick 20 mins
He’s very involved with BJP & close to one candidate who had been given an MP ticket as he had a good track record of winning MLA seats. This particular MP constituency had approx 5 MLA constituencies with one M majority area.

Because of his track record BJP candidate assumed easy victory.
And surprise - He lost.
Why? In 4 areas he did get higher % of votes but in the 1 M area the % against him was so overwhelming that his gain in other 4 areas was fully erased.

The most shocking part was that some Ms were BJP karyakartas.
He got less votes than the number of karyakartas.

You see how with just 20%-25% population voting as a religious block all you need is to break H votes & you’ll win.
And short of H feeling an existential threat or intense anger over corruption or some issue breaking a H vote based on caste or economics or taxes or some such junk is easy.

They lost 2014 because of anti incumbency & 2019 because of Muslim vote split
2024 was really close as they were able to lull Hindus into a false sense of “all is well” & “sarva garma Vada pav” using their assets and German Shepherd etc while consolidating Muslim vote via “khatre main ho” rhetoric

1) Appeasement (most likely path) - will lose votes from core base & not gain even a single Muslim vote
2) Development - Has proven to not be able to consolidate Hindu vote. Muslims won’t vote for them anyways
3) Go full Hindutva - Hindu vote still not guaranteed & Muslim vote will consolidate like anything
plus ecosystem will create hell globally

And that’ll ensure the 1947 moment for naive Hindus
