the accusation that TamilBrahmins are too powerful or control Carnatic music is an absurd proposition - the Tamil Music Sangam was founded by Annamalai Chettiar in 1935 -- faaar wealthier and resourceful than any Brahmin then or now. What is the status today ?
The urge is to use a Gramscian technique of uprooting the cultural hegemony that Carnatic Music repesents with Taml Brahmins as their agents. Kalavadiya Kalai (The Art that was Stolen) is absurd.. why not steal it back?

By calling for a quota - they not only CAP the Tiruvarur Trinity (Thiagaraha, MuthuswamiDikshitar,ShiyamaSastri) at 20% but also put in the peoples mind that these Dead-Brahmin-Men are cancelled +++ they dont supply the 80% worthy replacement either.

TMK represents the talented but "asadu" (naive and dim along a critical thinking axis) who will be te vehicle to bring this ideological weaponry inside the system. Regardless Ranjani and Gayathri only protested the award - that is within their freedom.
