A recent study reveals that Russians seek "peace negotiations" with Ukraine, but refuse to relinquish any claimed territories, even those they haven't seized. Essentially, they propose a ceasefire in exchange for Ukraine ceding more regions. Details: 1/
72% of Russians surveyed support some form of peace talks but only 22% are willing to make any concessions to Ukraine 2/
82% think it is ok to exchange prisoners, 55% it is ok to have ceasefire, 9% it is ok to return Zaporizhzhya and Kherson (even though they don't control regional capitals and substantive parts of them), and 6% it is ok to return Donbas 3/
75% support the war, 68% support continuation of the war, 27% have donated to the armed forces, and 22% are against ceasefire under any circumstances. 4/
We shouldn't be in denial - most of Russians support the war and are unwilling to stop for peace. They want to get more of Ukraine, not less. And so the war will continue unless Ukraine surrenders. But Ukraine won't 5X
