Doku is widely known for his dribbling ability in 1v1 situations but has a problem with his decision-making.
From the example against Brighton, his passing/dribbling was rarely turned into a chance and therefore became a waste.
In yesterday’s game, Doku seemed to improve his decision-making and showed that he's more than just a 1v1 threat

Ake’s runs helped Doku to get more space for the 1v1, he then decided to pass it to Rodri for the wall pass.

Doku was often positioned high on the left to pin the opposition's defensive line, but with Kovacic drifting wide, he made the counter-movement to receive between the lines and created the central overloads (with Alvarez).
This was often done by teams to exploit the space between the lines and create the ‘unpredictable moment’ in the build-up process.
Man City then could take advantage of the transition and exploit the gaps in Bournemouth’s defensive block.
Doku's 1v1 succeeded in pinning the opposition back and made them unaware of Bernardo’s run/movement to the box.

From a short corner, Man City created overloads on the right, and this helped to give Doku more space.
Bournemouth decided to put 10 men in the box (to prevent Man City’s aerial threat) and tried to maximize Billing’s long legs to cover/block shots outside the box, but Doku was able to create separation for the goal.
Not only from an attacking perspective, but he also offered help for Man City's out-of-possession.
His pressing was able to regain the ball and Man City could start the build-up for the 4th goal.

Once again, they were too focused on Doku’s 1v1 and weren't aware of Man City's deep run (Foden).
Just like Grealish, Doku also tracked back to help the fullback, and this created a 2v1 situation vs Semenyo.
From there, Doku launched Man City’s counterattack with his through ball.
