Thread on how having a good routine can improve trading performance🧵

Of course people will not have the same routine and some might not even have a routine and can still perform well but for me, routine plays a key role with trading psychology. I've found that what I do outside of trading has a direct impact to my trading performance.
The key to having a good routine is to reverse engineer what you what your average day to look like and then create a schedule & to-do lists to conquer your goals and get better 1% everyday.
I break down my routine in 6 parts:
#1: Sleep
#2: Diet
#3: Exercise
#4: Trading
#5: Deep Work
#6: Relax
SLEEP
A good sleep schedule is crucial for brain performance, mood, and overall health. You don't want to go into a trading session feeling tired and lazy or else it will cause you to make poor decisions and have bad trade execution & management.
DIET
You are what you eat is a true statement. Cut out all of the ultra processed foods, fast foods, and seed oils. A poor diet not only makes you look bad, but it will drain your energy levels which will directly affect your trading performance.
EXERCISE
All successful traders have self discipline. If you don't have the discipline to get your own body in good physical shape, how can you expect yourself to have discipline when you're trading?
Strong body = Strong mind
There are endless benefits to exercising daily.
TRADING
You can see that trading is not at the top of my list as everyone should prioritize your mental & physical health first. You need to have a clear mind when you enter a trading session and not be distracted while you trade. In order to succeed you must be locked in.
DEEP WORK
The whole point of trading is the freedom that's rewarded to you so you shouldn't be on charts all day. When you're off charts spend this time wisely for self improvement. Journal trades, backtest, create content, build businesses, learn other skills, read, write, etc.
RELAX
There's only 24 hours in a day.
- 7 hrs sleeping
- 1-2 hrs cooking, eating, cleaning
- 1-2 hrs exercising
- 3 hrs each trading session (LOKZ/NYKZ)
- 4 hrs deep work
Go on a walk, get sunlight, be in nature, watch a movie, mediate, do whatever you need to relax the mind.
After reverse engineering what I wanted my day to day to be, I moved to Europe because it had the best timezones for my daily routine since one of the big factors was that LOKZ trading was very profitable for me. Here's what a typical day to day looks like for me out here.
Once I started following this routine this year, I got funded 200k and passed a 100k phase 1 but then in June I broke my routine because I had friends come here to visit me from the states so we went out a lot then in July I went back to the states for a family wedding.
I spent most of June/July traveling & visiting my friends & family and all of July in the states. I was out of sync with my routine for 2 months which caused me have my first red month of the year and led to me being 6.5% in DD on my 100k phase 2 due to lack of focus & routine.
I eventually decided to take a trading break until I returned to Europe to stop the bleeding. I got to Europe this past week & started trading again. I managed to bring the account to now only 2% in DD. I will look to complete this 100k phase 2 hopefully in the upcoming weeks.
I used my same trading model but you can see clearly how big a role routine plays in my trading performance. 2 months with no routine resulted in -6.5%. Week 1 of being back into routine resulted in +4.5%.
Once I finish this 100k phase 2 I will take the next big step and start my 500k & 250k (already purchased) challenge at the same time using a trade copier to try and get to 1M funded by the end of the year.
