1️⃣ Once you've found a good story with solid characters tied together by a strong narrative thread and good doses of conflict, you can illustrate your comic using Generative AI 😉
2️⃣ Second, if you want to use Generative AI to illustrate your comic, you have to learn about "Consistency of Characters, Objects, and Styles". This is essential. So, you should complete this other tutorial I published first (yeah, it's free): javilopen.substack.com
3️⃣ Now, you need to choose a program to layout your comic. It can be something simple like Canva or Microsoft Word. For the example, I just used Word.
4️⃣ Of course, you'll need to set up the page size and margins for your comic. If it's for professional printing, the printing company or your editor will provide you with a base template.
5️⃣ After that, it's just a matter of attaching and positioning the images as you want. A really useful tool for this is Word's "Crop" feature, which allows you to trim an image to your liking, but lets you retrieve the cropped parts whenever you want.
6️⃣ Sometimes, you'll need to do part of the layout or create special collages using editing software like Photoshop. For example, here I blended two panels together with a diagonal cut. It turned out really well, didn't it?
7️⃣ For the comic's text boxes and speech bubbles, you can use Word's shapes with a one-pixel black border. Couldn't be easier!
8️⃣ And for the font, I recommend using "Comic Sans"... Just kidding! Over my dead body with Macumba! For the example, I used a really cool font called "SF Wonder Comic" which you can download here: dafont.com
9️⃣ Lastly, export to PDF, and this will be the result. It looks really good, doesn't it? bestaiprompts.art
