Lets first talk about the revenue model on X. They seem to be doing a "flat" CPM model, which means no matter what your niche you will get paid a flat rate of ~$.001 per 1,000 impressions. Unlike YouTube which pays CPMs based on niche. I got ~$670 for 61M impressions.
This to me means that accounts that just share the most viral types of content will be rewarded the most, accounts like @InternetH0F post random funny memes and easily can get 100M impressions in 1 day, that's $1000 a day for posting memes. That account is ~1.5 years old.
One last point before we get into the steps to grow an account, in order to qualify get monetized you need to :
1 - Have Twitter Blue
2 - Have 15M impressions in last 3 months
2 - Have 500 followers
Then just add your bank account, WAY easier than YouTube.

I've been posting a thread almost every day for the last 2.5 months. What seems to be the most important factors are engagement rate, bookmarks and reposts. Your content should be engaging enough to make users stop scrolling & want to save and share

#3 - Stay consistent
I took a few days off for my birthday and my engagement plummeted (in only 3 days!). Social Media sites reward consistency and X is no different. Consistency and quality of content will set you apart and get you earning impressions and revenue quickly.

When I started posting I made sure everything I wrote was 100% original, and within a few days I saw my same viral threads get copied and pasted (in other languages too!). None got the same engagement as mine. So be original and focus on quality over quantity.

X / Twitter has always been the place where trending and breaking news happens. Following the trends in your niche and finding interesting things to talk about are very important. (This thread today is a great example).

Quick note - Ive been hearing from a lot of creators that their CPMs are not all $.001, $.0006-$.002 CPM is the range I’ve been told so it looks like it might not be a flat model as I had thought but the average does seem to be around $.001. Why CPMs vary are still unclear.
