1- Today marks 45 years in Hijri calendar of the #Muhram massacre by the #Saudi Klansmen regime against our people in my hometown #Safwa @USAinKSA
2- It was #Thursday the 9th of #Muharram 1400 when the entire city marched in anger after the body of 18 year old #SawedAlQasaab who was shot dead the night before by #American trained & armed #Saudi National Guard during protests. His funeral became the largest #Safwa history
3- Safwa’s mosques started to call for people to gather for the funeral & 1000s came. My late father took my older brother but locked is in so I won’t go out. I stayed at the roof looking at people going westbound to answer the traditional call “Oh people of Safwa, immediate”
4- The body of #SaaesAlQasaab was not buried but instead taken by the angry marchers towards the #Saudi Regime security headquarters on the main road at 9 AM.
5- Before the marchers reached the security headquarters, #Saudi Marines & National Guard just opened fire killing 8 in 1 minute. This was taken moments after #Saudi militia killed the protesters.
6- There was direct #American support to the killings & the crackdown, according to former @cia station chief who was #Dhahran then. Similar support was provided & is being provided now to killing protesters #Qatif.
@CIA 7- I remember how helicopters were flying over our city during the #MuharramUprising & now think these couldn’t have been #Saudi operated. They had giant search lights . The #Saudis cutoff electricity #Qatif at night to allow them more control. It must have been American 🚁
@CIA 8-The chopper shot dead one woman #FatimaGhareeb from #Safwa who went up the roof & her family kept her death secret fearing reprisals.
@CIA 9- My cousin #SalmaanAlRuhain was 28, a poor fisherman, who lived in a chanty off the main road a 1/2 mile from #Saudi security headquarters. He walked out to support the marchers & he was sprayed by a hail of bullets. I still remember his face & that home. His story is something
