Remember the scene from Tanhaji movie, where Shivaji's mother confront the mughal officials who came to occupy Kondhana fort. Probably an ahistorical scene. But in history there was a similar drama when Sawai Jai Singh's mother vows to not leave Amber to mughals.
She was very difficultly pursuaded by Jai Singh himself to vacate Amer till return of better times. Mughal emperor himself occupied Amber and renamed it "Mominabad". Just 6 months after this, combined armies of Sisodias, Rathores and Kacchawaha stormed the hill fortress of Amber.
The mughal faujdar, Saiyid Husain of Barha fled. Remember Saiyids of Barha were considered the most courageous among the muslim soldiers of Mughals. They mostly led the vanguard of the mughal armies. Saiyid's flight from Amber was considered coward act by mughals.
Saiyid Husain was again defeated by Durgadas some miles away from Amber. Saiyid was burning for revenge, He asked his brothers Ahmed Said Khan (Faujdar of Mathura) and Ghairat Khan (Faujdar of Narnaul). Combined armies of all three Saiyid Faujdars marched on Amber.
On hearing of this impending danger, Sawai Jai Singh, Ajit Singh and Durgadas Rathore alongwith contingent of Mewar troops marched to meet the invaders. Jat leader Churaman was also with Saiyid Faujdars. The two armies met near Sambhar. A sanguinary battle followed in which
All three Saiyid Faujdars were shot dead and their army annihilated. Churaman fled the scene. For 2 years flames of rebellion burnt in Rajputana and even Waqil i Mulaqat, Asad Khan refused to go against the Rajputs. Finally mughal emperor Bahadur Shah bowed to inevitable and
made peace with rajputs.
