🔴 Mysterious Rain &Varun Japa🔴
~Tirumala Tirupati Devsthanam~
In the year 1979, Tirumala was facing an extreme water scarcity problem. All the ponds, lakes, and wells were empty and the main water source Gogarbham Reservoir was nearly emptied.
The then Tirumala Executive Officer Shri PVRK Prasad was standing in front of a huge problem and questions like these:
Nearly 25,000 devotees are coming every day to have Darshan. How can I provide water for even necessities to them?
Around 6000 people are permanently living atop the Hill. How can I provide water for their day-to-day chores?
If I transport water from Tirupati, it will consume time and excessive money. Will it be possible?
So amidst this huge tension, Prasad went to Sri Uppuluri Ganapathi Sastry(90) who was among the Top scholars of Sanatan Dharma in India at that time.
He suggested performing Varun Japa after deeply thinking into the matter and using His 48 years of experience in Vedas and Shastras.
Prasad agreed to anything which can bring water and rain atop the Tirumala Hills. Shri Sastry suggested scholars from all over India for conducting Varun Japa Poojan to Prasad.
But Prasad had Two Major Issues.
Many scholars denied coming to the Japa reasoning ill health, family matters, etc. As a result, the date was postponed every time for Japa.
Water in the Gaugarbham Reservoir was left only for three days and the final deadline for Varun Japa was the 8th of November.
So with His Whole Heart, He prayed to Venkateshwar Srinivasa Swamy and asked
Is this Varun Japa the remedy for the water problem?
Whatever I am doing is correct.
Why am I facing this ordeal in performing Varun Japa?
Srinivasa Swamy has answers to all the possible questions a Human can think of!
Sri Venkateswara Swami answered and answered in His Greatness, one night before the Varun Japa, 7th November, and time 2 am.
Bells inside Sri Vari Temple started ringing with the loudest tone. Every single person sleeping on Tirumala became awake. Those bells continued to ring for straight 15 minutes and then stopped ringing suddenly.
Prasad wondered why those bells rang!
There was not a single person present in the temple after the Ekanta Seva at night. So no human being could have rung these bells.
There was not a single hint of any animal present in the temple and more so animals can not ring the bell for 15 minutes straight.
In the morning at around 3 am, Prasad ordered all the security to check if any thief or unwanted person was there or not. No One was present in the temple.
So Prasad made up His mind that it is Srinivasa Swamy's signal and Varun Japa will be very auspicious and successful.
Varun Japa began and went on for three days straight. Prasad was the Mukhya Yajaman (main worshipper) in the Japa.
The last day came and no signals of clouds whatsoever on Tirumala Hills. Prasad along with priests went to conclude the rituals in Pushkarini along with Srinivasa's Festival Idols. Sun was the brightest at that time.
When they all were returning after performing holy baths to festival idols, Prasad's heart was drowning. He began thinking depressingly.
What am I going to do now?
All my colleagues and media persons and atheists will laugh at My decision now.
The time and money spent on the Japa will be accounted for by Tirumala Board.
What will I do without water on Tirumala Hills?
And amidst those thousands of questions and negativity, there were flashes of lightning and thunder of clouds on the Tirumala Hills.
Water started pouring from the clouds like anything. As they didn't bring Chhatra (holy umbrella) they had to run to save Festival Idols from rain.
And Prasad too ran to save Himself from drenching but No, He didn't succeed!
They all became wet from head to toe. It rained like crazy from that day noon till the next day morning in Tirumala.

Before the Final Abhisheka to the Srinivasa Swamy (to thank Him for the success of Japa) secretary of Prasad came running to Him and said:
“Sir! Gogarbham Reservoir is overflowing. We now have water in Tirumala for at least one year.”
Those Ringing of Temple bells are still a mystery. It never happened before and not after that till now.
That Rain on Tirumala Hills is a mystery because it didn't rain a single drop in Tirupati, Sri Kalahasthy, or any nearby area of around 10 KM. It rained on Hills and Hills alone.
Sri Srinivasa Swamy is Smiling Silently!
Govinda! Govinda!
Please read the book “When I Saw Tirupati Balaji” written by Sri PVRK Prasad for a detailed version and a few more experiences of Him.
