Map of the military situation in Khartoum as of end of the day 13th May 2023. Green = SAF, Red = RSF. The stars represent bases of each side.
#KeepEyesOnSudan #Sudan #Khartoum #السودان #الخرطوم
Notes for viewing this map: Although the RSF patrol many neighborhoods in Kahrtoum, they failed to take several crucial military and administrative buildings. And although their position in Khartoum is good, they failed to fully take El Obeid, Al Fashir, Nyala and Geneina.
This means that they neither managed to take Khartoum, nor to establish a strong base in Darfur for further operations. I don't think the war will end soon, and I don't know who will win, but the RSF have so far failed their objectives.
Note: I'm currently helping someone at Human Rights Watch to document extrajudicial killings and civilians killed in airstrikes. If you have any information on these please DM me so that I can forward it.
Yesterday there was fighting reported in Northern Omdurman. Based on 3 reports by people in the area, RSF attacked towards a bank in the East of the framed area, while SAF attacked towards South in the Western part. (1)
The status of Al-Halfaya bridge is unsure, with likely SAF control on the Western side, and RSF control on the Eastern side. However the area keeps changing hands and there has been heavy fighting for the past 3 days. (2)
@dK4YXgAPXX4vMe3 But yea obvious propaganda
On Darfur: I'm incredibly unsure about the borders I've drawn here as there's very little information. If you know someone in those regions who can help me map out which towns are SAF/RSF it would be very helpful.
@aliadeel701 Oh and do you know if there is SPLM-N presence in the area?
Me trying to figure out if the SPLM-N still exist or whether they disbanded in 2020
