Al-Halfaya has quieted down for now, and it's become clear the SAF has pulled back after yesterday's RSF attacks. This has been reported by 2 people who live there personally, and one of them says is to prevent civilian deaths.
Heavy fighting will very likely continue today, and SAF could try to retake the town.
There was also fighting reported at the Al-Mohandiseen Military Base yesterday, likely an RSF attack. It was repelled successfully.
My overall analysis currently is that after last week's fighting the SAF were in very strong initiative and had a good grip on the situation, then since they couldn't take the Presidential Palace directly tried to cut the supply lines to it by taking Shambat bridge,
however not only failed at capturing it but were pushed back considerable lengths from it. I don't think the situation is over though, as fighting is still currently ongoing. These updates are just snapshots of a continuously evolving conflict.
Note: It seems again that the SAF airpower doesn't appear to have an overwhelming effect on combat. Citizens in Al-Halfaya reported airstrikes the entire day and night, but the RSF still managed to take the town.
About Facebook: I've decided I will make one to post updates but won't use it to gather information. I think it makes most sense for the Facebook to be in Arabic, and I would need someone to translate the updates into Arabic. If you're interested in helping please DM🙏
Update:
Update on Al-Halfaya: Today there was a video showing a citizen driving over the bridge with no RSF in sight, and now there is fighting reported from this direction again. What I said yesterday is likely still true, the bridge keeps changing hands.
RSF then controls the Taiba Camp Base (3), and SAF checkpoints begin again around Al-Hilla (4).
