First of all, this is based on my personal experience and how I improved my English starting from the basics till I reached C1 Level (I’ve recently scored 7.5 in IELTS), you can see my results here, I scored this with almost no preparation before it so, here is my journey ~ 1
1- Listening.
Two things has helped me improving this skill, I decided to watch any movie or TV show with English subtitles only, this was difficult at the beginning but it got easier with time. Second thing that helped me more is YouTube, think of what you’re interested in~ 2

Like science, history, tech, sports or whatever, find channels in English related to it, and spend an hour of listening each day, listening to something that you’re interested in will be entertaining and the visuals in the videos will seize your attention. Also, this will be ~ 3
similar to the listening part of IELTS which will be on general or academic topics, like someone calling to book a ticket or a discussion about a topic related to science. To summarize, use English subtitles and YouTube for listening ~ 4
2- Reading
Well, to improve reading, you need to read, that’s it. Again, we will use the same trick that we used for listening, read articles about topics that you are interested in. Use application like Google news and start adding topics then read like two articles each day ~5

For those willing to take IELTS someday, or if you aren’t willing to take it, I still recommend using IELTS resources because IELTS is an intense way to test your language skills and preparing for it is like going to the gym but to train your language muscles ~ 6
The best two IELTS resources you can use are IELTS Liz blog and YouTube channels, I can’t stress on how helpful they are, the reading lessons will help you improve your reading skills and learn how to use skimming techniques to quickly read a two pages long reading task and ~ 7
find the answers. Next step is to apply what you learn by practicing timed reading exam using IELTS Cambridge books, each book contain 4 official IELTS exams, use the most recent ones before the old one, and get into the habit of doing one reading exam each week, that’s all ~ 8
