In general, I'm not bothered about whether someone wants to learn Hindi or not but people claiming that Hindi is nothing but Sanskritized Urdu/Hindustani having close association with Muslims are completely clueless about Hindi and its linguistic history. Let's look into it.
As per the 'Tenth Report on the Search of Hindi Manuscripts' conducted during the year 1917-19 by Nagari Pracharini Sabha, the attempt was made to find, classify and analyze the Hindi manuscripts from period prior to 1850. This revealed an interesting outcome.
Out of 448 manuscripts collected and analyzed, a whopping 249 (>50%) were related to the religious themes while 38 of them were related to philosophical theme. The religious themes covered in these manuscripts were primarily of Hinduism and Jainism.
The religious works were primarily the Doha-s and Chaupai-s based on the subjects covered in either Ramayana, Mahabharata or Puranas. If Hindi were the language of Muslims primarily, where are the Islamic works authored in Hindi in this period? Why did Hindus write in it chiefly?
The association of Hindi with Hindus was so strong that Noor Muhammad (18th c.) writing in Hindi reaffirmed his Islamic credentials by saying that though he wrote in Hindi, he had nothing to do with Hindus and followed only Allah and Rasool.
If we look at the names of authors whose manuscripts were analyzed in that volume, they read randomly as follows: Avadhuta Simha, Baladeva, Bhishma, Chintamani, Ganesha Mishra, Harivallabha and so on. Majority of them are either Hindu or Jains.
The vicious propaganda against Hindi as language of bastardized culture and considering Hindi speakers as the ones who speak an inferior language is sickening. It's driven by linguistic chauvinism and regional bigotry bereft of the actual reality.
