A desperate move by the Marathas at Panipat, when the battle began imminent Jankoji Sindhia finally signed an agreement and sent it to Bijay Singh of Marwar that he will not support his opponent Ram Singh and in return Rathore will help Marathas against Abdali. The letter
reached Jodhpur a day after the battle if Panipat in which Jankoji himself was slain. Ignorant of this development, Bijay Singh did ratify the agreement, must have later realised futility of the agreement. Despite earlier agreement with Abdali because of fear of
regular Maratha interference in their state, both him and Madho singh of Jaipur didnt help Abdali. Both Madho Singh and Bijay Singh earlier signed agreement that they both will follow same policy in Maratha vs Abdali war. If Marathas earlier agreed to such demand of
non interference in their states, maybe both Jaipur and Jodhpur state would have their armies lined up in the field of Panipat in support of the Marathas.
