1-I met with the Assistant Director-General of UNESCO Ernesto Otton, to discuss areas of cooperation between our country and UNESCO, with Dr. Muhammad Jumaih, Yemen's permanent delegate to UNESCO, Maestro Muhammad al-Qahoum, Ms. Krisna Bekat, and Ms. Mai Al-Shaer
2-I expressed govt's appreciation for UNESCO's role in supporting culture &antiquities in Yemen, &designating Marib to list of world heritage, &pointed to preparation of 2 files of archaeological areas in Taiz &Shabwa to be added to the list, in addition to Yemeni coffee"Mocha".
3-I referred to Houthi demolishing of Yemeni identity &cultural heritage, smuggling antiquities, destroying museums &sites, distorting historical cities, disregarding their cultural value &demands to spare them scourge of conflict cultural heritage of Yemeni people &civilization.
4-I reviewed terrorist Houthi militia violations against Yemeni artists &intellectuals, including imprisonment, enforced disappearance, torture, displacement, banning singing &artistic &cultural concerts, &imprisonment of the model Entisar Al-Hammadi and her colleagues
5-I called UNESCO to condemning violations of the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia, &providing necessary support to cultural institutions &Yemeni artists who have been displaced from militia areas, in a way that contributes to the resume cultural life as in the past.
6-I discussed with UNESCO ADG arrangements for organizing Yemeni Heritage Orchestra at UNESCO's HQs in Paris,this year,by Ministry of Information, Culture &Tourism &Hadramout Foundation for Culture, under auspices of HE Dr.Rashad Al-Alimi, Prez of Presidential Leadership Council
7-Mr.Ernesto Otton pointed to arrangements to continue protecting of human heritage sites in Yemen, stressing that UNESCO will send technical missions to Socotra Island &Marib to assess the situation &requirements to protect the sites, &continue implementing Cash for work project
