@kwo_vadis @azforeman @Nawwaf_Saleem @zielstrebig06 @AlsulaimanAbd I need an editor, but I don't actually have one.
@kwo_vadis @azforeman @Nawwaf_Saleem @zielstrebig06 @AlsulaimanAbd Sure there was an editorial process, but it's really impossible to tell how professional and formalised it was.
For all we know Mohammad did it himself, just like how I'm forced to do my own copy editing myself. Maybe a single scribe did it, maybe multiple did it.

@kwo_vadis @azforeman @Nawwaf_Saleem @zielstrebig06 @AlsulaimanAbd Part of why it is impossible to tell is because we don't know what the full shape and variance of the pre-canonical text was. So we can start speculating. But I will stick with what we know.
@kwo_vadis @azforeman @Nawwaf_Saleem @zielstrebig06 @AlsulaimanAbd The fact that the Sanaa Palimpsest has all verses within surahs in the same order as the Uthmanic text with nothing missing clearly suggests that what both were copied from a complete written copy of the final text, yes.
@kwo_vadis @azforeman @Nawwaf_Saleem @zielstrebig06 @AlsulaimanAbd Of each of those Surahs that is. The fact that the order of the Surahs differs between them and also of other companion codices suggests that those complete written forms may suggest they were distributed as separate pieces of texts.
