During Dressrosa, Doflamingo explained that the reason why he can blackmail the Celestial Dragons is because he knows of the existence of a "National Treasure that resides within Mary Geoise", claiming that its existence was so secret, no one was allowed to know about it (2/16)
He however said that if Rosinante hadn't stolen the Ope Ope no Mi, then he could've used it with the National Treasure of Mary Geoise to take over the "true power actually ruling the world". But how could he do that? Well, this is because the treasure is not the straw hat (3/16)
You see, a "national treasure" can refer to an item or artifact, but it can also refer to a living being. Someone who is the cultural embodiment of a nation. So in this case, the National Treasure of Mary Geoise is not the hat, but actually Imu, introduced alongside it (4/16)
And Doflamingo's own dialogue explains this: in his words, if he used the Ope Ope no Mi's "personality switching operation" onto the National Treasure, in other words Imu, he would've taken hold of the true power actually ruling the world... quite literally (5/16)
Doflamingo wanted to use the Ope Ope no Mi to switch his personality into Imu's body, a plan that if he pulled off properly, it would've quite literally allowed him to become King of the World. Who knew that silly little gag from Punk Hazard would be THIS important? (6/16)
We know of someone else who tried to do something similar and attain the position of "King of the World", being Rocks D. Xebec. But because he tried to do so, the island he was on mysteriously "disappeared entirely" from the map in an instant... sound familiar? (7/16)
It's clear that Doflamingo knew about Imu's existence, as he was even the first character in the series to acknowledge that someone above the Gorosei existed all the way back in Marineford. And as he said, if the world knew about this, it would shake it to its core (8/16)
But this goes a lot deeper. Because Doflamingo wanting to become like Imu makes the parallels between them a lot clearer, as he wanted to become "King of the Sea", quite literally the King of the World Imu, aka the Sea itself Mother Nature Umi (9/16)
Imu used 16 shots to eradicate Lulusia, and Doflamingo used 16 shots for his final attack, as often do other Celestial Dragons. This pattern shows that shooting 16 shots is a number sacred to them. But why?
Well, because 1 and 6 in Japanese can be read as "i" and "mu" (10/16)

Furthermore, Doflamingo is called the "heavenly demon" ("ten yaksha"), or more literally "celestial devil", a god who became a devil. And similarly, if Imu actually was Mother Nature Umi, the "Devil of the Sea" who became God, the parallel would make perfect sense (11/16)
If Imu was the Devil, source of all Devil Fruits, it would explain why the Donquixote Family said that if Doflamingo could become "King of the Sea", then he'd be able to "show them their dreams". Because Imu literally showed people their dreams through the Devil Fruits (12/16)
I also wonder if Umi being the Goddess of the Earth in the solar system would mean she has something to do with why the Sun Tree Eve (which could be the devil fruit tree) is likely hidden and encased inside the wall of earth that is the Red Line (13/16)
This would explain why Rosinante (who was a former CD) said the D. Clan want to destroy the world (aka destroy the Red Line) and how that makes them "the natural enemies of god". Or in other words, more literally the "enemies of nature", Imu's biggest enemies (14/16)
