(1/12) There is an attempt by some organizations to inject “caste” fault-lines on American citizens of Indian origin via pliant politicians & false equivalence to race. Read this thread to know why it’s malicious & false @SuhagAShukla @CoHNAOfficial @singhsahana @RajivMessage
(2/12)Firstly let us be clear & unambiguous that any discrimination is wrong. However a universal binary where humans are divided into oppressor oppressed binaries with all members born into a group labeled “oppressor” necessarily wrong in all circumstances is illogical & illegal
(3/12) However let’s assume that the world is getting more woke & we have no choice but accept a “oppressor” “oppressed” binary system worldwide. Even then this construct need three main basis to be considered acceptable
(4/12) 1) A disproportionate power differential
2) A historic precedent
3) A binary structure
All basis are absent in American citizens of Indian origin.
(5/12) They came to USA powerless & built life with 0 social, political, state or economic “privilege”
So how can they get “disproportionate” power to discriminate?
A 2nd Gen with minimal exposure to Indian culture clueless about caste is somehow evil by ancestry & birth?
(6/12) History of American citizens of Indian origin is barely 150 years. And in this there is no pattern of discrimination - entries to temples in US, Indian NGOs, neighborhoods none ask caste for entry - 2nd Gen onwards there is no official demographic records to identify caste
(7/12) Even in India where there was a historical basis where it started with profession based jaati & varna but lead to birth based rigidity - it was not a binary. There was a pyramidical pecking order with each group having distinct professions. Shudras have been monarchs too
(8/12) So how are you going to now recreate this pyramid structure of thousands of sub groups for legal cases in the US to establish who discriminated against who that too with no official data on caste of an individual?
(9/12) India’s way of affirmative action since 1947 was a complex way of defining the caste groups & enforcing reservations in education & government jobs.
How will you recreate the same in the US with no official caste identifier and Indians forming only 2-3% of the population?
(10/12) By that logic England had a birth based class system, Ancient Rome & Egypt had a rigid birth based social hierarchy, South Asian Muslims have Ashraf & Pasmanda castes - so why doesn’t Equality labs etc label English, Egyptian, Muslim & Italian Americans as “CASTEIST”?
(11/12) This sinister attempt at injecting “caste” in USA is a colonization 2.0 attempt to curb success of American citizens of Indian origin in business, corporations & politics by putting a negative label, dividing their voice & making them hate each other
(12/12) If you like how we super simplify complex concepts then please retweet and share our Twitter & YouTube handles & help us grow 🙏🏼
