1) More than 6.1 lakh Waqf properties across India reported till January 2020.
Many Waqf properties have been illegally encroached.
But what about the properties which Waqf Board claimed or acquired illegally and the properties with disputed ownership.

2) Recently, Karnataka HC gave permission to celebrate the Ganeshotsav at Idgah Maidan in Bengaluru.
But, Waqf board approached SC against HC order.
And, SC refused permission for Ganeshotsav at Idgah Maidan.
This Idgah ground ownership tussle is between Waqf Board & BBMP.
3) Waqf Board claims ownership of entire Thiruchendurai village, Tamil Nadu.
This came to light when a man wanted to sell his land, he was told to take NOC from Waqf Board as land he owns belongs to Waqf.

4) February 2022: Supreme Court quashes Waqf Board notification declaring 1654 acres land as Waqf property.
