Many of you have 🇺🇦 in your names to support the brave people there, please contact @OpenAI and tell them it is not right to erase a nation.

I mean its fine to use North Korea in #DALLE for heaven's sake:
This highlights the dangers of letting soulless corporations control the AI that augments our lives.
This is why we must have open alternatives.
And give them hell if they are assholes.

This also speaks to a wider issue I have touched on. When talking about "ethics" and "responsibility" in not releasing these models because someone might do something bad the actual result is that groups outside the inner circle are left out.

30k people can use #DALLE & have superhuman creativity but no Ukrainians to express themselves.
No Vietnamese/Turkish/Hindi GPT3. Just AI trained on western values, western inputs and used by largely western audiences while everyone else gets left behind. This is misaligned.
