Mahmud had sacked the original temple. A new temple was built in 1150, Mathura Prasasti dated Samvat 1207 was found in 1889 by at Keshava Mound by Anton_Fuhrer, German working with ASI. Recorded a Vishnu Temple built by #Jajja, a Gahadval feudatory of Ajaypal/Vijaypal.
