Jutglà - Proof why our system is working & the correct profiles are the most important factor 🏆
Jutglà isn’t an extraordinary player (yet). There are better strikers than him out there. Yet, his influence has been outstanding in games he has played.
He is proof that we are building a system where players suiting that system will be more important than individual players with incredible abilities. Having the correct profiles is everything.
Jutglà is 22 years old. He came from Espanyol where he got no playing time in La Liga. He has now gotten four games in La Liga for us. He has had an incredible impact. Why? Because he suits the system.
His creativity off the ball is his most important contribution to this team. We have several creative players on the ball. Creative players off the ball & on the ball complement each other.
It’s a very small sample size. But after four games Jutglà has managed 1.5 xG. This is 0.59 xG per 90 minutes played, which is great. High xG comes as a consequence of good off the ball movements.
Xavi wants a new striker. Why? Because an even better striker than Jutglà would thrive even more in this system. Imagine what a striker such as Haaland would do. A striker averaging a goal for every game he plays…
