Map of Varanasi, Shiva's sacred city, from western India most probably Rajasthan, 18th century. It is one of the most detailed and beautiful map, Gyanvapi Well can be seen on the left side of Vishwanath temple.
Another pilgrimage map of Kashi from 1800, made on cloth, also from Rajasthan.
One of the earliest, modern survey map of place of Kashi vishwanth, and nearby Gyanvapi well. It was commissioned by Sawai Jai Singh of Jaipur for re-construction of Kashi Vishwanath which was broken by Aurangzeb, here the mosque can be seen in the map.
The first European survey map by James Princep, the mosque and newly built temple by Ahilyabai first time made it into the maps. Orange square over the site.
