As promised, here is a detailed thread on the Kalyanapuravardhisvara Chalukyas of Sangameshvar.
Although the Chalukya clan had many offshoots all over Maharashtra and northern parts of Karnataka, we shall focus on the chief branch that ruled from Sangameshvar in Konkana.
Sangameshvar Mahatmya said to have been composed by Shesha, the court poet of 1st Sangameshvar Chalukya king Karnadeva, gives a vivid account of Karnadeva's career, showcasing him as a Puranic semi-divine being.
Verses inscribed on the Karneshwar temple at Sangameshvar.
Kolhapur Inscription of Somadeva Chalukya of Sangameshvar.
Karnadeva was succeeded by Vetugideva then came Someshwar V who was succeeded by his younger brother Somadeva.
Tervan plate of Kamadevaraya Chalukya of Sangameshvar dated 1260 CE.
Kavadevaraya or Kamadeva Bhupal was the father of the illustrious Royal Braveheart Martyr Harpaldevaraya Chalukya.
The dream of gaining back the sovereignty of Yadava Empire ended with the Martyrdom of Harpaldeva Chalukya but his descendants reigned supreme in Konkan till the late 15th century regularly punishing Bahmanis by Guerilla warfare and with their 300 strong naval fleet.
In 1470, the Bahmanis made a full fledged war against Jakhuraya Chalke. Jakhuraya worthy of his illustrious lineage put up a strong resistance in over 50 battles.
But ultimately had to surrender a year later in December 1471 due to supplies being cut off by the enemy.
