#Prakrit पौमाचरियम् (पद्मचरितम् in Sanskrit) is the ancient most #Ramayanam composed in Jainism by Vimala suri (530 yrs after Mahavira).
Here, Vimala suri says वाल्मीकि was a liar (1)
(2) Vimala suri has chosen the word पद्म and not राम in title of this poem. This might be done to keep this poem away from traditional Hindu focus.
This is also done to achieve distinction from the popular वाल्मीकि रामायण.
Word राम still occurs in this poem on many occasions.

(3) Vimala suri says since Valmiki Ramayanam is full of lies/absurd narratives and contradictions, he is presenting refined Ramayanam.
He declares Mahavir (Jain Tirthankar) as the original narrator of this refined Ramayanam.
He declares Mahavir (Jain Tirthankar) as the original narrator of this refined Ramayanam.
(4) To set the narrative, Vimala suri creates an imaginary story that once king श्रेणिक of मगध experiences a dream of Mahavir.
Next morning, he meets Gautam, student of Mahavir, that Valmiki Ramayanam must be a lie so he should be enlightened about विशुद्ध #रामायणम्.

(5) Vimala suri has put up few incidents (3.14-17) to declare Valmiki as a liar -
• How army of monkeys can defeat the mighty रावण ?
• How रावण, being a Jain, can eat meat ?
• How Kumbhakarna can sleep for half an year ?
• How can Indra be defeated ?(

(6) Gautama agrees and narrates विशुद्ध रामायण which he says received from Mahavir himself.
So, with Valmiki being a liar, Jain #रामायणम् starts.

(7) Verse 3.15 says -
न य रक्खसोत्ति भण्णइ दसासाणो णेय आमिसाहारो ।
अलियंति सब्बमेयं भणन्ति जं कुकइणो मईमूढा ।।
(Ravan was neither a monster nor a flesh eater. All that those bad poets have described is a lie).
Meaning :
Valmiki & other traditional poets are liars.
