Delhi HC was very displeased with IMA certifying soaps and in a strong worded sentence Chief Justice A P Shah. said that "such kind of quality certification should be done by the Bureau of Indian Standards and not by the IMA."
"BIS is to assess the products. IMA does not have such
functions and it has exceeded its jurisdiction by indulging in commercial activity."
