A thread on #Lego, chart reading and low-risk high return investing.
What if I told you there is a lesser-known asset class of classic building #bricks that we have played with our entire lives? Give this thread a read, retweet, and follow if you learn something.
1/10 THREAD//
While sourcing a different product at Target, I found an entire endcap of LEGO City Downtown Fire Brigade 60216. The price tag said $99 but since it was an endcap I scanned it and they came up as $49.99 we call this "hidden clearance" (always scan endcaps).
2/10
Any lego at 50% off is usually a buy, but out of curiosity, I scanned them into my Amazon seller app. What came up surprised me. The lowest FBA price for this set was $175 💰💰
3/10
Just to make sure this was legitimate, I ran the ASIN (Amazon unique product ID number) into my phone application, Keepa.
Keepa is comparable to Tradingview for stocks/crypto where it compiles price action into a chart for historical reference.
This chart looks great!

After purchasing all the sets available for $49.99/set I dropped them off at my storage unit where they will sit and appreciate until they reach my desired ROI.
5/10
A few days removed from this purchase I decided to do a bit more research using Keepa to see what sort of ROI I should expect off this Lego investment.
I ran a search on Amazon for "Lego City" then I selected 500 - 999 pieces (this specific set includes 943 pieces.
6/10
I singled out this set LEGO CITY Fire Station 60110 as it has many comparables to the set we purchased:
- same amount of pieces
- similar theme "fire rescue"
- similar components, firetruck, helicopter, other vehicles
7/10
This set 60110 is now selling for $300+ regularly after being on the market for 1800 days. Our set 60216 is already selling for $175 and is at 829 days on the market.
8/10
When comparing the two charts I believe our set 60216 (left chart) is at the spot I highlighted on the older set 60110 (right chart).
This shows me, if I hold this set for another 12-18 months I can realistically expect to sell it for $300+ which would be around 400% ROI.
9/10
Lego can be a very lucrative asset class if you have the tools to source it, space to store it, and confidence to hold it based on historical data as presented in this thread.
