THREAD on the Khashoggi report:
1). The report is backed by speculation and unsubstantiated statements…
It is built on no evidence, and reached a groundless conclusion.
2). None of the report’s contents are new.
Everything was hurled by individuals, the media and even world leaders, as an accusation or allegation, overlooking the fact it offers no proof.
Why?
Because it targets Saudi Arabia
3). Many, claims are exceedingly absurd.
Non of the facts points to involvement from the Saudi leadership.
Neither the media, nor groups, nor individuals, nor organisations have offered any evidence.
Believing a lie does not make it true.
4). The report reached the conclusion that the Crown Prince “had a role” based on the fact he has “absolute control of the Kingdom’s security”…
So does every world leader globally.
That does not implicate him.
It is not evidence, it is an opinion based off a fact.
5). For the past 2 years, the Kingdom, its leaders and their people have faced baseless vilification and criticisms, all of which proved futile…
We do not bow down to demands and dictates, especially from people who have no right to chastise us.
6). Figures with anti-Saudi sentiments view the Khashoggi report as an opportunity to castigate the Kingdom.
They have exploited the situation…
They have pushed for their agenda…
They have disregarded the wishes of the Khashoggi family.
7). Saudi Arabia charged the rogue perpetrators in a trial attended by security council representatives.
The trial’s conclusion was just, denouncing it as otherwise disregards rule of law.
You may not like the result but it does not give you a reason to claim it as ‘flawed’
8). The Saudi people witness bias, hate, and prejudice of unimaginable proportions on a daily basis.
The aftermath of the issue is not the first nor the last attack aimed at us, but our perseverance proves that any attack directed to us will be thwarted.
9). The Biden administration’s stance has been clear: its foreign policy aims to instigate through a falsehood, rather than cooperate.
This is not the first administration that has chosen to do so.
There is a well-known Afghan proverb:
“Same donkey, different saddle”
10). For nearly a century, the Kingdom has, and continues to, face challenges that seek to undermine it.
These challenges are not based on logic, soundness and morals, rather based on self serving interests and agendas.
The world should know by now, we always prevail 🇸🇦
11). I don’t generally tweet in Arabic, but the report wielded nothing, and amounted to nothing…
برغم ان التقرير يحمل استنتاجات خاطئة، الا انه يؤكد صحة الموقف السعودي منذ عامين
