1- Concerning Swiss federal political system, “Power to the Swiss citizens is the first principle of direct democracy. Although we have 4 parties in the executive branch among 7 ministers, 15 parties in the national parliament, but the real opposition is the people.”
2- “Every citizen is equal infront of the law & this is fundamental. However, in Lebanon everyone relies on “Wasta” because of the concept of inequality.”
3- “Switzerland was able to get rid from outer influences. Our economic wealth has a lot to do with our political system which was established on well functioning institutions of states and allowed for innovative economies, investments & businesses to flourish.“
4- “On the other hand, #Lebanon has established throughout these years a very professional corrupt system. We lost trust in the institutions, our multinational companies are closing, and there’s no way to reinvest again in this country because of status quo.”
5- On “Neutrality”: “#Switzerland was working on it for a long time, but it’s very difficult for Lebanon to achieve it because of its context. Lebanon is still at war with his thousand neighbors, but if the decision is taken, this requires the agreement of all political actors.”
