🔸Hemophilia is constant bleeding due lose hemostatic process.
Hemophilia characterized by excessive bleeding from skin, mucous
membranes, joints after minor trauma or surgery.
Hemophilia characterized by excessive bleeding from skin, mucous
membranes, joints after minor trauma or surgery.
It is caused by a mutation or a change in a gene that provides instructions for proteins; To form a blood clot.
🔹 Hemostatic process is work to stop bleeding 🚫
to stop bleeding it must be there platelets and clotting factors (Liver synthesized proteins) The body has XIII clotting factors that work at the time of injury🩹

🔸 Hemostatic It is divided into two stages:
◾️ Primary hemostatic.
◾️ secondary hemostatic.
◾️ Primary hemostatic.
◾️ secondary hemostatic.
🔹 In normal, Platelets adhere to the injured site of the blood vessel few seconds after
injury, to form plug for stop bleeding and this is called “primary hemostasis”

🔹 when a person have hemophilia he doesn’t have a clotting factors needs to stop bleeding , Failure to manufacture proteins may be due to liver failure , vitamin K deficiency or autoimmune diseases .
🔸 which person with hemophilia is missing one of two kind factors:
◾️If you’re missing factor VIlI so you have hemophilia A🩸
◾️ If you’re missing factor lX so you have hemophilia B🩸

🔹 sings and symptoms of hemophilia:
1- easy bruising ( Ecchymosis )
2- prolonged bleeding
3- oozing after tooth extraction
4- hematuria ( blood in urine )
5- nose bleeding
6- hemarthrosis ( blood in joints )
7- Hematoma ( collecting of blood outside of blood vessels )

🔸 treatment: injection of missing or non-functional clotting factors,
But how do we know the missing clotting factor🤔?

🔹 lab test 🔬:
1- Platelets counts
2- Prothrombin Time ( PT ) for factor I, II, V, VII, X
3- Partial Thromboplastin Time ( PPT ) for factor I, II, V, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII

🔸 Finally, it is best for individuals with hemophilia to avoid Violent sports and medications that promote bleeding like aspirin.
