كثير من الطلاب يستفسر كيف أعمل بحث وهذا سؤال عام وإجابته تحتاج محاضرات ويجب أن يكون من يريد إجابة السؤال معرفة ماذا تعرف أنت عن الأبحاث حتى يعلم من أين يبدأ بالشرح
سأتكلم عن أمور عامة لعلها تفيد من أراد أن يتعلم. كل بحث يبدأ بسؤال بحثي وهذا السؤال يجب أن يكون واضحاً حتى تعرف ماهو نوع الدراسة المناسب للإجابة على هذا السؤال البحثي.
هنالك أكثر من criteria يجب التأكد منها أثناء إختيار وصياغة السؤال البحثي الأولى

Feasibly means you can do a research to answer this specific question.
Intersting means you have the interest in this research area.
Novel means this research question was not answered in other studies or you are going to answer it in different study design or different ways

Ethical i think is clear
Relevancy means your study should be relevent to the current scientific research and relevant to the scope of the journal that you plan to publish in.

After allaying FINER criteria and PICO criteria then we should choose the apropriate study design. Randomized control Trials ( RCT's) os the gold standard but it is not possible in several situations.
For example if we want to evlaute the association between smoking and lung cancer. Ethically, we can not ask human subjects to smoke ciggarates and subject them to harm.
In another situation, if the outcome is rare we need to have very long RCT which is time consuming and high in cost
